Feel the wind

The balloon has no horizontal engine. The burner heats the air; cooling and venting reduce lift. Wind determines your path — control heat to find a layer.

Loading wind…

A game model, not real-flight training. Only wind comes from the forecast. Ambient temperature is assumed; upper winds are estimated. Terrain, buildings, wires and landing permissions are not modeled: altitude is above a virtual plane, not actual ground.

Control heat, not altitude

1. Fire a short burner pulse and observe. The balloon keeps responding after the burner closes: extra heat does not stop descent instantly.

2. Find a rhythm of short burns to maintain altitude. Allow cooling to descend; the vent accelerates heat loss. Alternating burner and vent wastes fuel.

3. Compare winds at different heights. You cannot directly turn or brake horizontally. Learn smooth flight and a gentle touchdown; hitting an exact point is optional.

4. Plan descent early. Touchdown considers both vertical and ground speed. A point marked on the map is not a verified real landing site.

Space — burner, V — vent, C — close valves, P — pause. Switching tabs pauses the flight automatically.

End this flight?

This ends the session but does not count as a landing.

Set a landing aim

An aim, not an autopilot or a verified landing site. The balloon still follows the wind.
